Storefront API

A Storefront API is a programmatic interface (typically GraphQL or REST) that lets custom frontends fetch product, cart, and checkout data from an e-commerce backend.

A Storefront API is the headless-commerce counterpart to a traditional storefront — a programmatic interface that exposes products, variants, cart operations, and checkout flows to any frontend the developer wants to build. Shopify's Storefront API is the best-known example; BigCommerce, Commerce.js, and Medusa offer similar.

Headless commerce (using a Storefront API with a custom frontend) enables faster sites, better design control, and integrations with content systems that traditional themed storefronts can't match.

Our site is built on Shopify's Storefront API: Shopify handles the commerce primitives (cart, checkout, tax, payment), and we own every pixel of the customer experience on top of that.
