Sawtooth Hanger
A sawtooth hanger is a small toothed metal strip attached to the back of a frame that hooks onto a single nail in the wall.
Sawtooth hangers are the simplest hanging hardware: a thin metal strip with a zigzag "sawtooth" top edge, attached centered along the top of the frame back. They hang on a single nail or picture hook.
They're fine for small, lightweight frames (up to about 11x14) but less reliable than D-rings for larger pieces. They also allow the frame to shift out of level more easily because the "tooth" the frame rests on has no anti-tilt design.
We don't use sawtooth hangers on anything we ship, but you'll see them on ready-made frames from big-box stores. If a piece arrives with a sawtooth and you plan to keep it on the wall long-term, consider swapping it out for D-rings.
