D-Ring Hanger
A D-ring hanger is a D-shaped metal loop screwed into the back of a frame, used to hang the frame directly onto wall hooks or screws.
D-rings are the hanging hardware of choice for most framed artwork. They're installed in pairs, roughly 1/3 of the way down from the top of the frame on each side, and either wired together for a traditional single-hook hang or hung directly on two wall hooks for a more secure flush mount.
Compared to sawtooth hangers, D-rings are more robust and allow heavier pieces to hang reliably. They also give you the option of the two-point hang, which keeps the frame from shifting out of level over time.
We ship every framed piece with D-rings pre-installed, wired between them for standard single-hook hanging. If you prefer the two-point flush mount, the wire can be removed and the D-rings hung directly.
